12) Polyamory.

A beautiful thing. For those of you who are curious, considering or already knee deep in it, as you can see it's not a cakewalk. But like I've said before, when it's good it's great. You'll be glad that you were bold enough to take the plunge. You'll make some wonderful and everlasting memories, that's for sure. Just make sure you walk into it with an open mind, and a strong willingness to work through the various issues that may arise; i.e., jealousy, communication problems, conflicting expectations, etc. It's like any other intimate relationship, only with more egos and personalities involved.
I would also suggest you prepare ahead, help make your journey a lot smoother and do some reading. I was wrong, there are plenty of "Polyamory for Dummies" type resources available. As recommended to me, I would suggest picking up a copy of 'Opening Up' by Tristan Taormino. And maybe check out Franklin's Polyamory FAQ...... Lot's of good reading there. Of course, there are many more informative and helpful sites out there. As I come across more, I'll add to my 'Poly Roll', located on the right side of this blog. Other than that, you learn as you go right? Get your umbrellas, you'll get your share of rainy days.
To all the long term Polyamorous and other open-minded relationships out there - full of love - strong and happy as ever - year after year. I salute.

No joke that it takes a lot of work for a poly quad relationship. We have recently moved in together and came out to our respective families so as you can imagine it's been a hell'va ride. It would be most helpful to have more resources to consult but what I really wish I had was a friend that has been down the same road that I am currently on to ask questions and use as a sounding board for those extremely difficult times. I very much appreciate your blog and that you took the time to share your story; I look forward to following your continued journey in your quad relationship and wish you all the best.
